Merry Christmas, blessed ones!
Christmas is so deep and so rich with meaning that the Church gives us twelve full days to celebrate it. You may already be thinking about taking down decorations or preparing for New Year routines—and that’s fine—but the miracle of the Incarnation deserves time to dwell in our hearts. God became like us in the most vulnerable, simple, and even painful of ways. That truth deserves to be savored.
As you begin this new year, don’t let your faith become just another “lifestyle choice.” The call of Christ is not casual; it is a total, loving claim upon our allegiance. God takes us fully into His life so that we might become fully who we were created to be.
I hope this finds you joyful. But if you are not joyful right now—if you are hurting, tired, uncertain—please know that you are still firmly held in God’s embrace. You still have a place in God’s unfolding story.
The year ahead will bring challenges, but it also holds incredible opportunity for growth. Use this season of feasting and reflection to strengthen your spirit for the adventure of following Jesus. Let’s not merely “play church.” Let’s set out together on mission, remembering that we truly have something the world needs.
Merry Christmas, dear friends—and here’s to what God has in store. Here’s to “sharing the heart of Christ in the heart of the city.”
Grace and peace, Jarrod

Wed | Jan 7-28 | 7pm | peachtree.org/writing Course Invitation: You are invited to join a four-week pilgrimage encountering small selections of some of the best spiritual writing available to us and using them for models for your own spiritual reflection. It will be a communion of saints, sitting at the virtual table together to sup on a feast of words. Along the way, we will observe that spiritual culture is not univocal and rejoice in its diversity of expression. Your commitment to the four weeks is your decision. You may come and listen only, or you may do the small readings and writings, fully engaging in the material. Either choice will be welcome. Though our time together will be short, you’ll leave with new awareness, ideas for writing as a part of your own spiritual journey, and resources for your future spiritual reading. May God bless us as we strive to grow in this area. And may we find joy along the way. January 7— Introduction to Course & Writing Prayers Saying prayer, both in public and in solitude, is perhaps the most basic of religious practice. Yet, how many of us know the long history of written prayer, of prayer journaling, and of even writing prayer as a way of forming public mind? We’ll take a brief look at these traditions, imagining some prayer forms you might try in your writing this week. January 14 — Writing about Spiritual Place all have places that have come to resonate with us, where we seek and find God. We’ll look at some fine examples of place exploration and begin to craft our own descriptions of our spiritual place. January 21 — Keeping a Spiritual Journal Regular short writings kept in a journal can be an effective and moving way of tracking your own spiritual pilgrimage. We’ll look at examples of various types of spiritual journals and plan how to begin or grow your own meditative life through regular small writings. January 28 —Writing a Saint’s Life Medieval Monks very seriously wrote about the lives of the saints, often mixing the actual with the fantastical for instructive purposes. Modern writers have written modern versions of saints’ lives for very different, but also instructive, purposes. We’ll look at these and begin some notes toward writing your very own “saint’s life” about a person you admire.

Sundays | 10am | 1st Floor Youth Room Our Youth Sunday School class for middle and high school students (6th-12th grade) is designed to help teens connect with Scripture in a real and meaningful way.
In this 45-minute session, we'll explore how God’s Word speaks directly to the challenges and decisions teens face every day—whether it's friendships, identity, faith, or purpose.
Through engaging teaching and thoughtful discussion, students will not only dive deeper into understanding the character of God, but also strengthen their theology and build a foundation for navigating life with faith and wisdom.
This class is a place to learn, ask questions, and grow together in a supportive, vibrant community.
