Greetings, PCC Family, It’s that unique time of year when school is back in session, yet summer still lingers. I look forward to welcoming many of you “jet-setters” back into the regular rhythm of worship. As we continue celebrating our Centennial Year, we remember that our spirit is one of traditioned innovation—our vision for the future grows from the rich soil of our heritage. Our founders were bold, courageous, visionary, and sacrificial. If we are to shape the next hundred years with the same vitality, we must seek God’s guidance and step forward in that same boldness. My Question of the Moment: what exactly is the heart of God right now, and how can we be motivated more by what God loves? As you travel, please continue your faithful giving—your generosity is vital to our shared mission. And remember, your presence matters deeply. Being in worship is more than a number on a page—it’s a witness to visitors, a gift to friends who need to see you, and a sign of our common journey of faith. We truly are better together. We need each other. We need you. I look forward to seeing you soon! Grace and Peace, Jarrod

Sun | Aug 17 | 9 & 11 am | Sanctuary Join us as we welcome to our pulpit The Rev. Dr. Denise Bell, pastor, seminary leader and former Regional Minister for Georgia. Be inspired by her insights on faith and community, and her passion for healthy, vibrant churches—bring a friend! Dr. Bell comes to us from Lexington Theological Seminary where she holds the Donald and Lillian Nunnelley Chair and serves as Assistant Professor of Pastor Leadership. For 35 years, Dr. Bell served churches as pastor, associate pastor, senior associate, interim pastor and executive pastor. She was the Regional Minister of the Christian Church in Georgia from 2014-2023. As a church leader, her enthusiasm in ministry comes from her excitement in seeing lives and churches transformed by fresh ideas and boldness. As an educator and minister of practice, Dr. Bell seeks to help pastors and congregations increase their capacity to flourish and to be healthy communities of faith in a changing world. We are blessed to have Dr. Bell once again grace our pulpit and enrich our faith with her sermon.

Wednesdays | July 17 - Aug 27 | 7-8:30 pm | Online Only Did the Hebrew prophets only foretell Jesus’ coming, or did they forthtell God’s righteous will for people living in their own time, a word that Jesus would later Himself proclaim and embody? If the prophets of the Hebrew Bible offered both correction and consolation to God’s people throughout their history, then what do those prophets have to say to us today as we seek to follow Christ? In this seven-week study we will address those questions using Walter Brueggemann’s 2019 wonderful study guide entitled, From Judgement to Hope: A Study on the Prophets. It offers good summaries and commentaries on each prophet, their historical context, timelines, and exemplary passages from each prophet that we will study. The guide is widely available online for $12 or less. Please, order your own copy. If the cost is prohibitive, contact Rev. Brooks Gignilliat; the church does offer scholarships. A guided discussion format will allow free conversation while keeping us on-track and focused on key take-aways. Join us as we read texts that shaped Jesus’ understanding of Who God is and what God expects of His people. The class will meet on-line only on Tuesday evenings from July 8 through August 19 at 7:30 PM. There is no registration fee. However, to receive the Zoom link, you must register by emailing the teacher: ellardw@bellsouth.net Even if you can’t attend live, but you want to watch sessions after the fact, be sure to email the teacher, so that you can receive links to watch the recordings.

Sundays | 10am | Room 218 Our Youth Sunday School class for middle and high school students (6th-12th grade) is designed to help teens connect with Scripture in a real and meaningful way.
In this 45-minute session, we'll explore how God’s Word speaks directly to the challenges and decisions teens face every day—whether it's friendships, identity, faith, or purpose.
Through engaging teaching and thoughtful discussion, students will not only dive deeper into understanding the character of God, but also strengthen their theology and build a foundation for navigating life with faith and wisdom.
This class is a place to learn, ask questions, and grow together in a supportive, vibrant community.
Teachers: Rev. Katie Bond & Jeff Bond

Sundays | 10AM | ROOM 215 Logos Men’s Sunday School Class exercises our biblical imagination as we focus on one compelling biblical word at a time. You are invited to an intentional discussion that includes the question, “What does the Word of God mean to us?” Each month we will grapple with how the Word of God is evident in various aspects of our lives.

Sundays | July 13-Aug 24 | 10am | RM 213 When have ever you felt cut off from home, from the familiar, from security and belonging? What buoyed you up? What dragged you down or threatened to turn you away from your authentic self? When the Israelites found themselves exiled to Babylon, God sent Daniel to speak words of comfort and of challenge to His people. Come and hear how these words can speak to us in our own experiences of Exile, on how we can come home to God and – more radically -- how God comes to us even when we are far away from Him.
