Position Available: Executive Minister 

Job Overview: 

The Executive Minister of Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the church, including managing the financial, administrative, and human resource functions, and ensuring that all policies and procedures are implemented effectively. They play a key role in promoting the church’s vision and mission, in collaboration with the Senior Minister and other church leaders to identify and pursue opportunities for growth and impact.  

The Executive Minister of Operations will work closely with the Senior Minister and other members of the leadership team to nurture, lead and care for our community, visitors, and members. The Executive Minister directly reports to the Senior Minister and works in collaboration with both ministerial and administrative staff.  

This is a full-time position and the salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.  

Responsibilities 

HR & Personnel Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for the human resource functions of the church, including managing the administrative staff and developing and implementing policies and procedures. 

  • Identify staffing needs, create job descriptions, and review and create benefits packages, compensation levels, and bonus and incentive programs in collaboration with the Senior Minister. 

  • Compensation, bonus allocations, and budget will be in collaboration with the Senior Minister, Executive Committee, and the Finance Ministry. 

  • Participate in hiring staff, negotiating employment agreements, and ensuring compliance with the personnel manual and civil laws and regulations. 

  • Motivate and support current staff, ensure personnel records are up-to-date, and conduct performance reviews for administrative staff. 

  • Develop protocols and procedures to field employee grievances and disputes, and design and implement onboarding procedures for new staff. 

  • Update and maintain the employee handbook and distribute it to staff. 

  • Design and direct staff training programs to support employee development. 

  • Conduct comprehensive research on employee benefits, including health and dental insurance, and short-term and long-term disability coverage for staff. 

  • Directly manage the Operations Team, including the Facilities Coordinator, Buildings & Grounds staff/volunteers, Finance staff, Wedding Coordinator, and Communications staff. 

  • Lead the staff and congregation in the absence of the Senior Minister. 

  • Assist with worship planning and other areas of pastoral care. Participate in the execution of weekly worship, Christian education, preaching, and pastoral care (including but not limited to hospital and home visits, weddings, and funerals). 

  

Operational Management 

  • Efficient, effective, and timely communication is a core responsibility of this role, as it fosters collaboration among staff, engages the congregation, and ensures the smooth operation of church activities and initiatives. 

  • Oversee and manage the financial life of the church, including budget creation, oversight, and endowment management in collaboration with the Senior Minister, church accountant, finance ministry, and Trustees. 

  • Forecast budgets annually and monitor and manage income and expenses monthly and annually. 

  • Work closely with the Senior Minister, Trustees, and board to communicate, plan, oversee, and consult on capital projects, special projects, high-risk and high-monetary projects, emergency projects, and volunteer-commenced projects. 

  • In conjunction with the Senior Minister and Stewardship Chair, support the annual campaign and capital campaigns. 

  • Secure legal counsel for the church when necessary. 

  • Conduct comprehensive research on building insurance, umbrella policies, and workers' compensation to ensure adequate coverage and compliance with applicable regulations. 

  • Manage IT contracts and functionality; engage IT support when needed. 

  • Managing contracts with vendors for various services, including but not limited to copy machine rentals, elevator permits, phone and internet contracts, ensuring compliance with terms, and optimizing cost-effectiveness. 

  • Source and coordinate security personnel for Sunday worship services and special events to ensure a safe and secure environment. 

  • Attend monthly Official Board Meetings, Executive Committee meetings, and Trustee meetings. 

  • Support and implement other duties as assigned by the Senior Minister. 
     

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree 

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership position with demonstrated success in managing operations and personnel 

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills 

  • Knowledge of church operations, policies, and procedures, as well as legal compliance requirements 

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage complex projects 

  • Ability to manage finances and develop budgets 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software 

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of colleagues 

  • Strong commitment to Christian faith and values, with a passion for ministry and evangelism 

Position Available: Minister/Director of Music

Peachtree Christian Church is seeking a skilled and passionate Christian leader to lead our music ministries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in choral music and be adept at leading worship through congregational singing, choral anthems, instrumental pieces, and other creative musical expressions. Experience in directing both a sanctuary choir and a bell choir is highly desirable.

We are looking for someone who excels in leading, recruiting, and training individuals in formal and classical worship styles. Additionally, a candidate open to exploring creative and alternative worship expressions as supplementary offerings is desirable as well.
