Prayer Prompt April 12

SCRIPTURE

Luke 24:50–53 (NRSVUE)

Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and, lifting up his hands, he blessed them. While he was blessing them, he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven. And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and they were continually in the temple blessing God. ​ ​

REFLECTION

The ascension of Jesus marks the culmination of His earthly ministry and the beginning of the disciples' mission. Their response of worship and joy encourages us to embrace our calling with similar enthusiasm. How is the Holy Spirit speaking to you through this Scripture?​

PRAYER

Exalted Christ, as You ascended to the Father, You called us to continue Your work on earth. Fill me with joy and devotion, that I may faithfully serve and glorify You. Amen.
