Prayer Prompt April 2
SCRIPTURE
Matthew 28:11–15 While they were going, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests everything that had happened. After they had assembled with the elders and devised a plan, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, telling them, "You must say, 'His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.' If this comes to the governor's ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble." So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story is still told among the Jews to this day.
REFLECTION
In this passage, we see the chief priests and elders attempting to suppress the truth of Jesus' resurrection by bribing the guards and spreading false information. This act highlights the lengths to which some will go to deny or distort the transformative power of Christ's victory over death. Reflect on moments in your own life where you may have encountered resistance or disbelief in the face of truth. How is the Holy Spirit speaking to you through this Scripture?
PRAYER
God of truth, grant me the wisdom to discern falsehood and the courage to stand firm in the reality of your resurrection. Help me to be a bearer of your light in a world that often seeks to obscure it. Strengthen my faith and embolden my witness to your enduring love and power. Amen.
