Peachtree Christian Church Celebrates 100 Years of Faith and Love with Special Wedding Bells Service

Midtown Atlanta, GA — 2025 — Peachtree Christian Church, a historic cathedral nestled in the heart of Midtown Atlanta, proudly announces its centennial celebration this year – marking 100 years of unwavering faith and community service. Known for its stunning architecture modeled after the famed Melrose Abbey in Scotland and its stained-glass windows, the Midtown Atlanta church has been a cherished wedding venue for people of all faiths. Over 9,000 couples have tied the knot in Christian marriage throughout its storied history.

As Peachtree Christian Church reflects on its century-long journey, it seeks to honor and celebrate the countless couples who have chosen this sacred space to begin their marriage. From native Georgians to well-known musicians and professional athletes, the church’s ministers have had the privilege of officiating weddings for a diverse array of individuals – each celebrating their love in the historic embrace of Peachtree Christian.

“Leighanne and I can’t believe it’s been 25 years. We both look back on that day with great fondness,” said Backstreet Boys Brian Littrell. “Dr. Collins was instrumental in the foundation of our Christian marriage.”

Its gothic architectural grandeur provides a timeless backdrop that blends classic elegance with spiritual serenity, ensuring that every wedding is as unique and beautiful as the love it celebrates. The church’s traditional center-aisle sanctuary and stained glass make it a popular choice for brides seeking that fairytale wedding ceremony.

To commemorate this momentous milestone, Peachtree Christian Church invites all past members who were married at the church to join in a special event—the 95th Wedding Bells Service. Scheduled for Feb. 9, 2025, this celebratory service will honor the rich legacy of the church’s wedding ministry and the many couples who have exchanged vows at the church.

“We are thrilled to celebrate our 100th anniversary and to honor the profound role that our church has played in the lives of so many couples,” said Rev. Jim Bell, the church’s esteemed Minister of Music. “Our Wedding Bells Service is not just a tribute to our history, but a heartfelt recognition of the love stories that have been nurtured here. We are excited to reconnect with past members and celebrate the enduring impact of our ministry.”

On February 9th, Rev. Dr. Jarrod Longbons will perform a special Wedding Bells Celebration Service that includes a re-dedication of each couple’s vows and a reception where attendees can reminisce and reconnect.

Past members who were married at Peachtree Christian Church or anyone wishing to renew their marriage vows are encouraged to attend the Wedding Bells Celebration Service.
