Prayer Prompt March 31

SCRIPTURE

John 12:23-26

Jesus answered them, The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly, I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Those who love their life lose it, and those who hate their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also. Whoever serves me, the Father will honor.

PRAYER

Lord, it is a hard and beautiful thing you are asking — to release our grip on our own lives, to trust that falling is not ending but beginning. We confess that we do not die to ourselves easily. We hold on. We negotiate. We try to serve you without following you all the way. Give us the courage of the grain of wheat. Let us fall into your hands, trusting that what you grow from our surrender will be more than we could have kept on our own. Amen.
