Prayer Prompt Feb 19

Scripture

Mark 3:24-25

If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

Prayer

Almighty God, thank you for your son, Jesus Christ, whose teachings remind us that we are called to a life of peace and unity. Give us wisdom and gentleness so that our thoughts, words, and actions are healing, not damaging. May our desire for unity be stronger than our desire to be right. Lord, bless us with patience and curiosity to understand one another, so that we may be a people of grace and love. Remove from our hearts and lips any gossip, slander, or unkind words and replace them with your truths so that we can be a people of integrity. Remind us of our mortality, knowing that our days on earth are limited and that each day is a gift. God, empower us, the church, to be unified by your love so that we may share your glory with the world.
