Prayer Prompt April 5

SCRIPTURE

Mark 16:9–11 Now after he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons. She went out and told those who had been with him, while they were mourning and weeping. But when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe it.

REFLECTION

Mary Magdalene's encounter with the risen Christ and her subsequent testimony to the mourning disciples highlight the challenges of belief and the transformative power of personal experience. Despite her faithful witness, the disciples struggled to accept the reality of the resurrection. This passage encourages us to consider how we receive testimonies of faith and the ways we might be called to bear witness to Christ's work in our own lives. How is the Holy Spirit speaking to you through this Scripture?

PRAYER

Risen Lord, grant me the openness to hear and believe the testimonies of others, and the boldness to share my own experiences of your transformative love. Strengthen my faith, especially in moments of doubt, and help me to trust in the power of your resurrection. Amen.
