SCRIPTURE

Matthew 6:16-18 — “And whenever you fast, do not look dismal, like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces to show others that they are fasting… But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face.”

REFLECTION

Fasting and spiritual disciplines are often between us and God. Jesus reminds us to seek God’s heart without needing attention or praise. Keeping a secret devotion draws us deeper into the mystery of God’s love.

PRAYER

Lord, help me to walk humbly in my spiritual practices. Let me honor You in secret, knowing You see and cherish each small act of devotion. Amen.
